MARBLEISTA – A TALE OF REFINED STONES

We dive into the ocean of marble and fine stones found in France’s historic city centers

In our 2023 BRUTALISTA video, we roamed the suburbs in search of the gritty concrete cathedrals born from modernist architecture. Marbleista is the other side of the coin from this dual projet and presents the opposite vibe. This time we basked ourselves in the glitter of classical European architecture found at the heart of French cities.

We looked for the smoothest marble floors and the finest granit ledges Paris, Marseille, Toulouse & Bordeaux have to offer. We found them in an aquarium of limestone buildings, churches and medieval remnants that have rightfully attracted generations of lovers & Japanese tourists alike (sometimes in love themselves). Some top background scenes best enjoyed with a degree in classical architecture.

Spotwise, we succumbed to our usual inclination towards untapped lines and (barely) skateable features hidden in plain sight. You shall still recognize some french staples sprinkled in there, but it’s mostly rare setups and secret nuggs.
